La Ponche Beach
Small beach fronting the oldest part of Saint Tropez village
Plage de la Ponche and its neighbour Plage de la Fontanette are two lovely beaches which you can access directly from the heart of the village.
Pointless taking a swimsuit, these small beaches are not visited by swimmers but mainly by readers and photographers. The bay sits close to yacht entry to the port so you certainly don't want to be swimming out too far, best to stick to paddling and cooling your feet down on a hot day.
It's also the starting point for hiking the coastal path, the Sentier Littoral.
Setting & Location
Sitting close into the buildings of the old town this rather secluded town beach is hidden away from the masses at the port. You need to walk round a small coastal path to reach it.
Beach Quality
Although this is not a white sand beach, the sand is made up of small pebbles mixed with sand, so it's still comfortable to lie on once you have your towel down.
